If I Die - Rachel Vincent

*not many spoilers*
Fifth in the Soul Screamers this uniquely thrilling novel just absolutely has to be my favourite so far! Possibly out of all my books *gasp*!
Rachel Vincent was born to write and paranormal romance suits her well! If you have not read any of her books (YA or Adult) START READING NOW! YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY REGRET IT! .... unlike reading twilight (doesn't even deserve capital letters).
Ok, I adored Tod the moment he was mentioned in My Soul To Take but that was mostly because of his charming persona and boyish good looks *insert dreamy sigh/giggle* but after a while he became #1 on guys I love. And If I Die just proved inexplicably how correct I was! Of course there were other characters but most were offstage whilst Tod was center.
Now, the actual plot was both alluring and riveting. I literally could not put the book down, I'm ninety-nine percent sure it was glued to my hands for all three times I read it...
Rachel's style of writing draws you in, and I'm not talking about the font. Her portrayal of the characters make you want to love the ones you should hate (aka Sabine) and hate, well, some, and drool over certain Reapers.
Also, just a note, if you've read the first few books you absolutely need to read the novella Reaper that is a story about Tod and if you have or haven't read any of the books you should read My Soul To Lose (prequel to the series). Seriously. I'll beg. You should not deprive yourself the opportunity to read any of these delicious novels and novellas (online) and the moment you read one you will feel bereft until you read the rest.
I give If I Die 9/10 as it could only be 10/10 if it was all about Tod... Which Reaper is, so there is my 10/10!

Reckoning - Lili St. Crow

*no spoilers*
Now, whilst I would love to rant and rave about this mystical piece of art, I can't. Because then there would be a spoiler alert and what would be the fun in that?
Don't get me wrong, I adore Lili St. Crow but whilst Reckoning is superb it just didn't seem as...realistic as her previous YA novels. It is COMPLETELY worth the read but note the fact that I, personally, don't believe it was as good as, say, Betrayals.
Reckoning did have it's squirming-in-the-chair-and-don't-make-me-stop-reading-moments but it was not consistent.
Although, as I said, it is COMPLETELY WORTH IT. Do not allow yourself to believe in the in-between moments of action or the maybe-maybe not romance that Reckoning deserves to be in the trash. It. Does. Not.
Although the looooove triangle was addictive to read about even though cliche...
Alas, there were times when I would say to myself, "I knew it!" and other times when I would think "Oh my Christophe, aaaaahhhhhhhhh! Noooooooooo!!!!! Yeeeeeeeessss!!!!" Basically, it had a near perfect balance of OMC and I'm-so-smart-I-knew-that-would-happen!
Furthermore Reckoning did kind-of force me into a craving for a certain dessert...*cough*apple pie*cough*
Overall it was a delectable novel with just enough juicy tidbits to keep your head spinning for days and make your friends ask what is wrong with you, but also was disappointing if you got the ebook instead of the actual book so you could read it early, but not have the chance to drool over the cover, and was just not as marvelous as previous novels. 7/10. It was thrilling but nonetheless disappointing compared to her previous YA novels.
...now I want some apple pie.

As you should know Cassandra Clare's latest installment in The Mortal Instruments series has been released into the fantasy and not-so-fantasy universe. I have had the pleasure (and not so much pleasure at times) of reading City of Fallen Angels! I would have to say it kept me guessing. I would not have thought that was happening! There was times in the book where I just started screaming into my hand, it was so intense I had to take a break and go on Facebook to post my frustrations! Need I even mention DSAS??!! I did not even imagine in my wildest thoughts that it would be like THAT... The twists and turns had my head spinning! You think for certain that you know EXACTLY what is happening or even going on and then BAM!You. Are. Wrong I nearly cried out of frustration, especially the major ending. I mean, you knew that you were going to have a cliffhanger but that was just... It freaked me out so much all I can do is watch Gossip Girl and imagine Ed Westwick reading it out...It took me over a week to get over the ending! If yu haven't read it yet....WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??!!

All in all it was marvellous and I cannot wait for Number 5 XD I give it 4/5 stars...Not 5 because, well, for it to be 5 for me? It would need to be a biography about Jace ;D
